Renew Your Mind

Picture
As you've seen, there are certain laws that govern faith.  The Bible tells us we reap what we sow.  This is known as sowing and reaping.

You can see obvious evidence of this in nature.  If you plant grass seed, you wouldn't expect a  pear tree.  If you plant a seed for a pear tree, you wouldn't expect an apple tree to grow.  This is a major principle God has established.

If you plant seeds of discouragement in one's life, you shouldn't expect them to be encouraged.  Sowing and reaping is a very important law of nature.

Sowing and reaping is also an important principle in the spiritual dimension.  The type of spiritual seed you sow, you will reap its fruit in your life.  Remember the Law of Correspondence.  Your outside world will correspond with your inside world.  What you reap in your outside world, will depend on what you sow in your inside world.

So, regarding your  journey from fear to faith, the level of faith you attain in a particular area of your life, will depend on the seed that you sow on the inside.  You can sow seeds of fear or  seeds of faith.  The level of your faith will determine on the type of seeds you sow.

The first seed is the seed of the renewed mind.  The Bible tells us to "...not be conformed any  longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2).  This scripture goes on to say that as our minds are renewed we will know more and more what God's will is for our lives.

The word "renew" means to renovate or to restore to it's original state.  When you renovate something, like a car or a house or office, you take out the old things and put new things in.

The same holds true for our lives.  Remember the Law of Correspondence.  If you don't like what you're manifesting in your life, then you need to change what you are inputting into your mind and heart.  If you put bad information into a computer, you'll get bad output.

In order to achieve a new and higher of living, you'll first have to do away with your old ways of thinking.  In addition, you'll need to replace those old thoughts with new thoughts.  Once new thoughts that you input become dominant thoughts, new actions will come about and you'll have new manifestations.

Proverbs 23:7 tells us, "As a man thinks in his heart, so is he".  The word for "think" means "door keeper" or "gate  keeper".  Your dominant thoughts are the gate keepers of your heart.  What takes root in your heart is what you're going to do.  You will do whatever is in your heart.

Proverbs 4:23 says "Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life".  The term for "issues" means "boundaries, limitations and stagnations".  If you want to change your manifestations, limitations or boundaries, you must change your heart.

Two Levels Of Your Mind

Picture
There are two levels of our minds.  The level of our mind will determine the level of your faith and how deep you'll grow in the Lord.

1.  The Carnal Mind -  The first level is the level of the carnal mind.  This level of thought is accessible by anyone.  This is also called the natural mind.  Within this level, anyone can access their subconscious mind, imagination and intuition to create think and build.  Yet, it's at this level where there is no relationship with God.  In fact, the Bible says the carnal mind is an enemy of God.  One may have an awareness of "something out there", "infinite intelligence" or "God is there".  Awareness doesn't equal relationship.  At this level, one has limited Biblical understanding, think mostly from the standpoint of logic and reason instead of faith.  They live by circumstances and are often clothed with fear.  It's at this level that the roots of fear nourished and grow.

2.  The Mind of Christ - The second level is the Mind of Christ.  As believers, we have the mind of Christ.  This is the first step into the higher dimension, where those who don't have a relationship with Christ can't go.  We need to develop the mind of Christ because the carnal mind is hostile to God.  In Hebrews 10, it states how Jesus came to do the Father's will.   In John 12:49, Jesus said He didn't speak of His own accord, but the Father commanded Him what to say and how to say it.  Then in John 14, Jesus said it was the Father in Him doing His work.  So, the mind of Christ involved His involved His will, words and actions.

It's the mind of Christ that gives us the will to serve the Father.  Without growing into and allowing the mind of Christ in us to mature, you won't have the desire to seek God or to do His will.  You won't be living in faith, but by circumstance and fear.

As the mind of Christ in you matures, you'll hear the voice of God more clearly.  The carnal mind is too busy fulfilling its own desires to hear the voice of God.

Hopefully you see how important this first seed of faith is.  Without it, you will reap a harvest with its roots in fear.  You will not be fruitful or be useful to God in faith.

Sow this first seed.  You will begin to reap a harvest of faith.
